Your Legal Duty of Care
Why Proper Asbestos Waste Disposal Isn't Optional
Asbestos waste is classified as hazardous waste under the Hazardous Waste (England and Wales) Regulations 2005. That means anyone producing, handling or transporting it has a legal duty of care to ensure it's stored, collected and disposed of correctly — no exceptions.
Illegal disposal — including fly-tipping, putting asbestos in general skips or mixing it with other waste — carries significant fines and criminal prosecution. Even if you hire a contractor to remove asbestos, you remain legally responsible for the waste trail unless you can prove lawful disposal with Environment Agency consignment notes.
AIB Solutions is a fully licensed waste carrier. We handle the entire chain — collection, transport, documentation and disposal at an EA-permitted facility — so your duty of care is fully discharged.
⚠ Don't put asbestos in a general skip or bin
