The release of asbestos fibres in the air can be a major concern, whether it is by accident or carelessness. Few workplace events are as alarming. Fortunately, we are well positioned to be able to provide emergency response air testing with on-site analysis. This means minds can be quickly eased or prompt action to close down problems at the earliest opportunity.
Air monitoring is also used during our asbestos removal work to detect leaks from working enclosures and to reassure people living or working nearby that no risks are arising from working practices in operation.
After asbestos has been removed, repaired or environmentally cleaned, we recommend air monitoring in some cases, and it is mandatory in others.
We can therefore offer airborne fibre sampling in conjunction with our removal projects in the following areas:
The problem:
We received a call from a homeowner who was concerned after an electrician had broken through the garage ceiling in order to fit a cable. A friend of the homeowner had suggested that the ceiling could be asbestos.
The solution:
Upon receiving the call, one of our experts attended the premises within the hour. A sample of the material was taken for asbestos analysis and advice was given to keep out of the garage until we had the result. The sample proved to be asbestos insulating board and the homeowner was informed immediately. We then environmentally cleaned the garage and repaired the damaged board.
The problem:
We received a call from an homeowner that was looking to get the textured coated ceilings removed from the bedroom and bathroom of her property, she had been advised by the decorators that it may contain asbestos therefore she would need to get it tested.
The solution:
